The Great Bowls Challenge is a summer competition that was launched in 2016 with 24 teams. In 2018, the Great Bowls Challenge experienced a growth of 395% and now has 95 teams playing the competition. We have 3 divisions for both men and ladies. The teams playing in the competition are spread across the greater Sunshine Coast region from Bribie/Caboolture in the south to Gympie/Rainbow Beach in the north. We attempt to limit travel of our teams to an hour or less where ever possible.
As our logo suggests the Gr8 Bowls Challenge comprises of a team with 8 players. These players compete in a two pairs and a fours format over 6 weeks with each team playing home and away. Teams are awarded 3 points a rink win and 1 point for the most aggregate shots.
$50 is awarded for each rink win.
The club that wins the Men’s Division 1 is awarded the Final for the following year.
